On the edge of the Caribbean Ocean, seven miles offshore spectacular Cancun, lies the beautiful Caribbean Island, Isla Mujeres. On the windward side, in a small neighborhood on the beach, we have a lovely two bedroom one-bath house that beckons you from afar. It has ceramic tile floors and is fully furnished for relaxed living. The house has ceiling fans throughout and is air-conditioned. Las Brisas was totally remodeled in September 2001 and has a whole new look! The house is gorgeous, and has new windows and a patio door in the master bedroom so you can lie in bed and watch the surf! The almost constant ocean breeze keeps the temperature comfortable and has given us the name "Las Brisas" (The Breezes).
The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, hot plate, convection oven, microwave, coffee maker, pots, pans, a blender, and utensils. Towels and sheets are also provided. One bedroom has two full size beds and the other has a Queen size. There is a futon in the living room, and we also have hammocks for lounging on the patio. The pace of the island is relaxed. And although it is becoming more popular as a resort, it still retains a local flavor that is not easy to find. We have a spectacular view of the ocean from both sides of the house. You can watch the sun rise from the beach front patio and watch it set from the porch on the street side, a la Rastaforian.
The house is located about eight blocks from town on a road that is traveled regularly by taxis and a bus.
The Yucatan Peninsula shrouds hundreds of Mayan and Toltec ruins. Isla Mujeres is about sixty miles from the walled Mayan City of Tulum, and spectacular Chichen Itza is a day trip away. Although I recommend staying overnight at Chichen Itza. The ruins are extensive and well restored. If you try to see them all in one day, you will wear yourself out.
If you are looking for a relaxing and economical way to spend a week or two and are more into siestas than discos, then I highly recommend a vacation on beautiful Isla Mujeres, Island of Women.
The house rents for $775 per week May thur October and $875 per week November thur April. We also ask for an additional $ 50 for the water for the cooling pool (opitional) since there is no filter system on this pool the water must be refilled after each guest. But you do not have to have the pool filled in order to enjoy our home.
We have a property manager living on the island to assist you and to supervise maintenance on the house. The rental fee includes weekly maid service and all utilities. Daily maid service is available for $12.00 per day. Also, personal laundry service is available for a very reasonable price.
To reserve your place in the sun call, e-mail or write us with the dates you desire. A $100.00 security deposit, per week reserved, is required to confirm a reservation and, assuming there was no damage or loss during your visit, your deposit will be refunded within two weeks of you returning the key. Your total rent is due 30 days before your departure date. If you must cancel, I will refund $50 of your deposit up to sixty days prior to your departure.
